Pick two or three days a week

Choose days that fit your life, and give them a time. Maybe it is Monday and Thursday mornings with your coffee, or Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday after supper. The exact days matter less than having them, since a habit you can remember is a habit you will keep.

Roles are often booked for the next day or two, so spacing your checks a few days apart keeps you from missing too much. If you can look every day, that is fine, but you do not have to. Check Open Calls

Read the details before you decide. If the dates, the drive, and the pay all make sense, tap "Yes, I'm available." If not, move on without worry. Check Replies

Replies is where casting answers appear. A red number shows how many new ones are waiting. Look at it every time you check Open Calls, and read each message in full. Some messages ask a question that needs a quick answer, and others confirm a booking with details you will need on the day.

If you replied to a role earlier in the week, Replies is where you will learn what happened. Not every reply gets an answer, and that is normal.

Update your Calendar

Take a minute to look at your Calendar on each check. Tap a day once to mark it available, and twice to mark it unavailable. It saves by itself. If your plans changed since last time, fix it now. When you mark a date available and you are in the area, casting sees a small calendar icon on your profile for that date, so a current Calendar makes you easier to check. Use new-role email alerts if you have Pro

Pro is an optional upgrade at $48 a year. It adds email alerts when new roles are posted, so you do not have to remember to look. Some weeks, Open Calls has little near you. That usually means the productions in your area are between shoots, and it says nothing about your profile. Use the quiet time to check your photos, update your Calendar, and make sure your location is right. Casting finds people by city and ZIP code, so a correct location matters most. Then go back to your regular days, and a new role will show up when a production starts planning.

Here is how it might look. On Tuesday evening you open Open Calls, find two roles, and reply to the one with dates you are free. You check Replies and see a message from last week, and you answer it.
